and so many more to come
I am grateful to Sam for volunteering as the first of hopefully many more models to sit in for this new project. In a culture that is flooded with imagery that depicts something of escapism, a marketed appeal, cultural normatively and trends I wanted to publish a collection of images shot over a period of a few years that feature the large male body. I want to display a certain body type that gets a lot of flack for being undesirable and ugly. My hope is that the images in this collection show the opposite of these notions. Big is beautiful. Curves are quite lovely. Fat is not something to stigmatize people over. All people have worth. All shapes and sizes are attractive to someone.
A quick note here. I want to address the fetishization of the taboo and the objectification that might associate itself with some of or all of the models featured in this project. My style of photography seeks to breakdown these barriers. My goal is to produce erotic photographs in nature, but steer clear of pornography and sheer objectification. Where faces are not depicted I have specifically chosen to show the abstract in the form as opposed to direct imagery of genitalia.
Now on to the stuff you probably came to see.
