Building a brand

BRANDING

Tonkatsu San will work with you to develop the identity of your business. This is done through a very conversational process and a lot of listening. We want to know about all of your "Why's". It's important that the customer know the heart behind your reasons for doing business. We will assist you in establishing the language, imagery, environment, or culture you wish to convey. Branding includes so much more than just a trendy logo. Building a brand includes how you communicate with your customers. It involves your team of employees. Brands are increasingly visible. Photography and online content that is consistent and cohesive are important means by which your customer base becomes that base. Loyalties are formed through communication of strong branding.

Let's create some content

PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO

This is the backbone of our studio.

Today's consumers are image hungry. Social media has made the use of photography (still and video) important, if not necessary, means by which all brands are advertising. It's, perhaps, sad but true; if you don't look good on Instagram it almost doesn't matter how good your food tastes, how ethical your boutique clothes are made, where your coffee beans are sourced, or how personally important your business is. Tonkatsu San can help you build a portfolio of photographs that are professional quality, unique to your brand, and lasting.

Photo packages consist of: studio sessions, product catalogs, corporate headshots, editorial coverage, creative portraiture, architectural photography, drone photography, and more.

ABOUT

We are a commercial photography and creative studio based in the 40 West Arts District. Our services cover areas of photography that require finer attention to details and accuracy in reproduction. Most of our client work is portrait, product, and creative based; often in the editorial stream. We are practiced in technical photography and incorporate artificial, controlled lighting in all of our high end work. Natural light is only so cooperative after all. Our investment into flash based photography allows for us to mimic natural lighting conditions. It also allows us to better represent and highlight the specific features the client wishes to bring to the attention of their customer base. We create images that, at the end of the day, help drive customer interaction and assist in closing sales.

What can you expect?

Quality photography from professional photographers is an expense. We are aware of the investment being made to enhance your brand’s identity as you look to generate additional satisfied customers. On the day(s) of shooting depending on the scope of the project our photographer will be fully equipped with multiple cameras, multiple lights, lighting modifiers and/or an assistant. On location photography sessions may require more tricky circumstances depending on the location. In this case all of the potentially necessary power will be provided through travel battery packs. In person, the photographer will be expected to be courteous and communicative. Email and phone correspondence are expected to establish a better working relationship and understanding of what kind of specifics you, the client, are envisioning. It’s important that details are discussed before the day of the shoot. Proper direction is critical to a successful end product. Photographers, as creative as they may be are not mind readers and should take direction not as micromanagement but critical to their execution.

Deliverables

Once your day of shooting is complete we move on to the culling and post processing portion of the job. Within 48 business hours you can expect to be given access to an online gallery of narrowed images that you can, from there, comment on and further narrow down to the final selections of images you wish to license. Depending on the number of selection made upon the client narrowing step the post processing time will vary. Post processing time in our bids are on estimation based on the initial details of the intended shoot. Techniques in post require technical knowhow and often expensive software. Your final processed images will be made available through a DropBox folder that will be maintained for up to 2 weeks upon completion. After those 2 weeks the folder will be archived. If you by chance delete the images you may request access to those archived images.

*Often times we are asked for no post processing services. As the client you have the option to wave post processing after the initial narrowing. We will promptly deliver images via a DropBox folder that will be maintained for up to 2 weeks. After that time the images will be archived; accessible by request.

**Requests for RAW files will not be honored. Delivered files will come in 2 final resolutions (web/screen and full resolution) as JPEGs.

Licensing

The basics of professional image licensing allows the client full permission to use as they deem appropriate and may further visually manipulate those images. Edits made to the EIXF or Meta data of an image is forbidden as per a signed client contract. This agreement is the validation of image licensing. Images not approved in the narrowing processes will be permanently erased. More detailed language on licensing will be available in a contract that must be approved and signed before the day of the desired shoot.
